Takuya Okamoto

Takuya Okamoto he was born in 1992 in Urayasu (Japan) and received his first guitar lessons at the age of ten from Yasufumi Hiratsuka and Masashi Shinohara. He studied with Alvaro Pierri at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (Austria) and completed his Master's degree in 2018 with unanimous top honors.

He received numerous prizes at international competitions in Europe and Japan.

He has been invited to perform at guitar festivals in Europe. Additionally, he has performed as a soloist with the New Philharmonie Chiba Orchestra in Japan. He has demonstrated his talent not only as a soloist but also in various ensembles.

2010 Yamaha Music Foundation Scholarship, Cultural Award of the City of Chiba, 2nd Prize at the International Guitar Competition in Tokyo (Japan)
2016 2nd Prize at the International Guitar Competition "Alirio Diaz" in Rust (Austria), 1st Prize at the International Guitar Competition in Altheim (Austria)
2017 2nd Prize at the International Guitar Competition Nordhorn (Germany), 2nd Prize at the International Guitar Competition Kutna Hora (Czech Republic), 2nd Prize at the International Guitar Competition Brno (Czech Republic)
2018 2nd Prize at the XIV International Alhambra Competition (Spain)
His CDs "Sete Anéis" (2019) and "One" (2021) were awarded a special edition in the music magazine "Record Geijutsu."
2024 His third CD "Les Bergeries" was released.
