Jan Depreter - known as “the Sound Painter” of the guitar is considered among the top 10 of performing classical guitarists in the world today.
Depreter holds several Master Degrees in Music and is a prize-winner at more than
15 competitions from Tokyo to Paris, including top prizes in Alhambra, Paris, Tokyo, Vienna, as well as the Francisco Tárrega and Andrés Segovia competitions in Spain. After winning the prestigious Printemps de la Guitare international concerto competition he was awarded the gold medal of Queen Fabiola of Belgium.
He has played the stages of the Far and not-so-far East, both Americas, the Russian
Federation, Australia and all throughout Europe.
Since 2002 Depreter has regularly been invited to teach masterclasses all over the world, including the Guitar Foundation of America (GFA), the Royal Conservatories of Amsterdam, Scotland and Paris, the West Dean Festival in the U.K. and most recently assesing the Master and Bachelor exams and teaching Masterclasses at the Prins Claus Conservatoire, Groningen, The Netherlands.

(Klagenfurt / Wien) studied with Álvaro Pierri at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, graduating with honors. He served as a long-time assistant to A. Pierri. He is the winner of numerous 1st prizes at national and international guitar competitions.
Concerts and TV- recordings (BBC, ORF, Classic FM a.o.) took him to many countries in Eueope, Japan, Russia, USA. As a composer of solo guitar literature and chamber music, he is highly sought after. Current CDs include "Nostalgia," "Poetry and Colours," "Bach und Ich" (solo), and "Zeit Portrait" (duo with Melanie Hosp).
